Suitable for electrical insulation and mechanical protection of flexible, low-voltage, electrical cable joints
Good adhesion to metals and different plastics
Bonds to most modern cable jackets and itself
Excellent hydrolytic stability
Low exothermic reaction temperature
Description:
3M™ Scotchcast™ Flame-Retardant Compound 2131 is a 2-part polyurethane resin used for electrically insulating between connectors at low voltage as well as replacing cable jackets when splicing or repairing mine and portable cables. This permanent, liquid type resin has a unique formulation designed for use in the rugged conditions in which mine and portable cable operate. The high dielectric strength offers a very good electrical insulating property to the resin.
Feature:
Semi-flexible
Has 17-minute gel time at 23 °C (73 °F)
Useful for replacing or repairing the jacket on both single- and multi-core power cables in rugged conditions
Designed for max temperature continuous use at 90 °C (194 °F)
Three different pack sizes available
Flame-retardant
Rated up to 1 kV
RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant
Note:
For insulation and mechanical protection of flexible low-voltage cables and for repair (replacement) of cable sheaths.
