Description

Description:

POLICAP abrasive caps in cylindrical shape with radius end WRC (previously shape C). POLICAP tools have a seamless design and the entire tool surface can be used. Due to the special structure of the ceramic oxide grain and the active-grinding bond components, ideally suited to working on stainless steels (INOX), as well as the high-temperature-resistant nickel-based and cobalt-based alloys that are frequently used in turbine construction, such as Inconel, Hastelloy. The active-grinding additives prevent clogging and facilitate cooler grinding with a considerably higher stock removal rate. Colour code for ceramic oxide grain CO-COOL = red

Feature:

  • RPM, optimum: 16000 RPM
  • Abrasive: CO-COOL
  • Dia. external, metric: 13 mm
  • Grit size: 120
  • Height: 17 mm

Advantage:

  • The abrasive caps and abrasive spiral bands are firmly held in place on the holder as the holder expands during use.
  • Good dimensional stability and excellent fine grinding thanks to special manufacturing process.
  • Easy tool change.

Application:

  • Recommendations for use: To easily change the abrasive caps and abrasive spiral bands, give them a slight clockwise twist and pull them up and off. When doing so, leave the arbor clamped in the tool drive and attach. For the best results, use at a recommended cutting speed of 10-20 m/s.
  • Applications: Step-by-step fine grinding; Leveling; Surface work
  • Drive types: Flexible shaft drive; Straight grinder

Material:

  • Materials that can be worked:
    • Annealed cast iron
    • Bronze
    • Cobalt-based alloys
    • Grey/nodular cast iron (GG/GJL, GGG/GJS)
    • Hardened, heat-treated steels over 1.200 N/mm² (< 38 HRC)
    • Nickel-based alloys (e.g. Inconell and Hastelloy)
    • Stainless steel (INOX)
    • Steel materials with a hardness > 54 HRC
    • Materials that can be worked: Annealed cast iron; Bronze; Cobalt-based alloys; Grey/nodular cast iron (GG/GJL, GGG/GJS); Hardened, heat-treated steels over 1.200 N/mm² (< 38 HRC); Nickel-based alloys (e.g. Inconell and Hastelloy); Stainless steel (INOX); Steel materials with a hardness > 54 HRC

Note:

  • The maximum permitted peripheral speed is 25 m/s.
  • For safety reasons, the maximum permitted rotational speed indicated must never be exceeded.
