Description:
PFERD offers a wide selection of coated abrasive tools for working on different workpiece geometries and materials. They consist of a base, a base bond and a coating bond for the abrasive grain to adhere to. Depending on the grit size, coated abrasive tools can achieve a high stock removal rate or a very fine surface finish. The available backing materials differ in properties such as tear strength, flexibility and wear. With the right base, the grinding tool is adapted to the requirements of the intended application: paper is used in the woodworking industry and in trade, e.g. among carpenters, painters and decorators, cloth is predominantly used for metalwork, and vulcanized fibre is highly wear-resistant and is used in various thicknesses predominantly for making fibre discs. The set contains hook-and-loop-backed abrasive discs suitable for a selection of different applications, designed for dust-free work during coarse grinding on medium-sized and large surfaces. NET hook-and-loop-backed abrasive discs consist of a netting fabric to which the abrasive grit is stuck using a powerful binding technique, which makes it very robust.
