Sustainability

Responsibility for the environment, social issues, and corporate governance
As Europe’s leading partner for quality tools, workstations and storage equipment, and personal protective equipment, sustainable action is one of our fundamental principles. Sustainability is practised as an integral part of our culture. That is why Hoffmann Group has been committed to the environment, social issues and good corporate governance for decades. We are convinced that we can only generate sustainable added value by integrating ESG criteria (environmental, social, governance) into our business activities. At Hoffmann Group, we are actively committed to sustainability in order to offer added value to our customers in particular. Our sustainable products and services are therefore not only characterised by being climate- and eco-friendly, but also by delivering an outstanding customer experience. Our commitment to sustainability is a great opportunity to even better position ourselves in the market and to expand and strengthen our long-term relationships with our business partners.
Since the adoption of the group-wide sustainability strategy in 2022, we have linked ESG aspects even more closely with the corporate strategy of the Hoffmann Group and take a holistic view of the economic, ecological and social performance of the Group. We are consistently working to advance integration, to further develop objectives, key performance indicators and measures in the strategic fields of action, and to improve the sustainability performance of the Hoffmann Group. Based on the results of a materiality analysis, which we review regularly, the requirements of our customers and regulatory requirements, we define the focus of our sustainability activities. We are already active with a wide range of measures in relevant areas such as emissions and energy consumption, occupational safety and health, and human rights due diligence.
Through the participation of our parent company SFS in the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, we also expressly support its ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environment and climate as well as the prevention of corruption. Additionally, the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide the framework for our sustainability strategy. They define global priorities and goals for sustainable development by 2030 and aim to mobilise global efforts to achieve a common set of goals and targets. The Hoffmann Group also wants to contribute to this transformation.
Climate & Environment
The Hoffmann Group sees it as its responsibility to contribute to achieving the Paris climate targets by reducing direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions. We endeavour to treat the environment responsibly, and to use natural resources sustainably and efficiently and take measures to reduce our energy consumption.
Employees & Society
The Hoffmann Group offers an attractive working environment that is characterised by mutual trust and where performance and commitment are rewarded. Occupational safety and health are important criteria for employee satisfaction and are a basic prerequisite for a high level of motivation. Social responsibility and social commitment are an integral part of the company culture.
Responsible Corporate Governance
The Hoffmann Group believes that a strong culture of integrity, reliability and transparency leads to better business performance and is essential not only for our long-term success, but also for the protection and well-being of our employees. Through responsible supply chains, the Hoffmann Group also contributes to the protection of human rights and fair working conditions.

EcoVadis silver medal
At the end of 2024, Hoffmann SE once again underwent a sustainability assessment by EcoVadis and defended its silver medal by gaining points. With 67 out of 100 points, the company, including all subsidiaries, improved on the previous year (63 points) and moved up into the top 15 per cent of companies rated by EcoVadis. The EcoVadis rating is one of the most renowned sustainability ratings internationally. Using a scorecard, it measures various indicators such as sustainable objectives, implemented activities, certifications and controlling measures. Depending on the industry, company size or geographical location, sustainability criteria are taken into account along the entire value chain. An overall score and four individual values in the areas of environment, ethics, people and labour rights and sustainable procurement reflect the assessment and allow comparison with other companies.

Code of Conduct
Our aim is to deliver the highest standards. And that includes the way in which we conduct ourselves. Ethical and lawful conduct should be a standard that all Hoffmann employees uphold as a matter of course. To help them do this, we have drawn up a Code of Conduct that sets out clear rules on how to act in relation to competitors, customers and suppliers – covering subjects such as prohibition of price fixing as well as granting or accepting favours. This Code of Conduct is binding for all our employees. We also make it available to our affiliated companies and ask them to introduce similar guidelines so that we can be sure our principles are being upheld throughout the Group.
Social commitment with the Hoffmann Group Foundation
Social responsibility and community engagement have been an integral part of Hoffmann SE's corporate culture for decades. Through the Hoffmann Group Foundation, we primarily support organizations that promote the development of disadvantaged and traumatized children and adolescents, with the aim of empowering them for an independent life and a better future.
